the whole point here is this....you may decide to wear a helmet or not......its your choice, and i dont point fingers either way......i sometimes do and sometimes dont wear a helmet, last time i rode i didnt.........my brother doesnt but he should, he hasnt had his licensce long enough to go without, in ky you must be 21 and hold a motorcycle license for at least a year.....thats fine with me, if your just getting your license, whatever......after that year is up you can go without......you still have to have eye protection and legally speaking sunglasses aint good enough, thats to protect you from getting teary eyed and smashing into someone else.......here is what is wrong, this takes away your ability to choose, now you have non motorcyclists deciding what is best for them, when my son was smaller he preferred the green mush to the orange mush......why? i dont have a clue but it was a choice he made.....sometimes he got the orange mush anyway....but he is a child and decisions have to be made for him.....if you are under age and on a bike you have to wear a helmet now so why are decisions being made for adults? no one should have their decisions legislated for them......

What about when a 21 yr old "adult" does not wear a helmet and dies because of a get off and the parents sue?
Unfortunately retarded people have ruined it for everyone. I personally wouldn't want to ride without a helmet. I've done it before to see the hype and yea I really really enjoyed it. The "free" feeling was amazing!
I understand the feeling of choice but how would you keep sue happy people from going nuts?

People are stupid, end of story.
There is no real debate here. Wearing a helmet is the responsiblity of the rider if they so choose.
Theres plenty of debate about the net about this issue.
We can get as angry and active as we like, but in the end what good comes of it?

Very well put..... I agree completely with what you have said. To go along with what you are saying I think that for laws pertaining to motorcycles the people allowed to vote on them should have to posess a cycle endorsment or license.smoker wrote:the whole point here is this....you may decide to wear a helmet or not......its your choice, and i dont point fingers either way......i sometimes do and sometimes dont wear a helmet, last time i rode i didnt.........my brother doesnt but he should, he hasnt had his licensce long enough to go without, in ky you must be 21 and hold a motorcycle license for at least a year.....thats fine with me, if your just getting your license, whatever......after that year is up you can go without......you still have to have eye protection and legally speaking sunglasses aint good enough, thats to protect you from getting teary eyed and smashing into someone else.......here is what is wrong, this takes away your ability to choose, now you have non motorcyclists deciding what is best for them, when my son was smaller he preferred the green mush to the orange mush......why? i dont have a clue but it was a choice he made.....sometimes he got the orange mush anyway....but he is a child and decisions have to be made for him.....if you are under age and on a bike you have to wear a helmet now so why are decisions being made for adults? no one should have their decisions legislated for them......
It basically means to crash, go down, bail or whatever term you choose to use for having an accident. I wouldn't call it a "crotch rocket" term so to speak because I first heard it a while ago when riding dirt bikes.smoker wrote:what the hells a get off
is that crotch rocket speak for some kind of stunt
I personally don't agree with helmet or seat belt laws as long as you are of legal age. If you truly want to risk your life then it's yours to risk. I do however agree with child seat and seat belt laws. Me personally I won't ride without a helmet or drive with out a seat belt but that is me. I think it's silly for the goverment to say you can't put your own life in jepordy... It's the one thing you own out right and they are trying to take it away from you. As long as your not endangering anyone else then so be it... have fun what ever toots your horn. I think that's a major problem with our goverment in general. They are too busy worrying about how they are protecting everyone to actually protect anyone (don't get me started on politics and organized religion) All I'm saying is that as an adult you have earned the right to choose what you do with your life you make mistakes and you learn it's true there is no debate it's not my place to tell anyone how to live there life or protect themselves unless they are in my car or on my bike or in my home then you follow my rules.

hey ryan, in the end if we stand up for what we believe is right then we are no longer white stocking wearing, hail the queen englishmen.....everyone this day and age is so used to having things taken away that they no longer give it a second thought as long as a majority of registered voters who are consequently not the larger part of the population vote that way.
