I think that's right.

DVD player ---> Universal Audio Player-To-Stereo Cable ---> Pioneer CD-RB10 Auxiliary Input Adaptor ---> head unit ---> amplifier ---> speakers

okay, and what im gaining from this is the audio will be better sounding? what is the benefit of this over not using the aux source and plugging the rcas from the DVD player into the rca outs of the HU?

$30 difference :P

You said why it's a benefit, you would be trying to plug the power cable into the amplifier's speaker output :) ...so to speak. RCA outs on the HU are outs, not inputs. They make you buy the adaptor because that's the only way to put an aux source into the cdplayer. They like money.

It will be coming out of your stereo rather than the speakers on the dvd, so it should sound better... just a tad.

An easier way do this is to win a PowerBall jackpot.

But speaking of the quality of the sound: With so many connections between the source of the audio signal and the speakers, I'm afraid of extraneous noises and an overall reduction of sound quality.

yeah i was thinking aobut that too but the DVD player will be mm's away from the HU, it will be right below it, so wiring doesnt have to go far nor does it have to come in contact with much. hopefully that will help.
