That's true, more power can be had by using lots of smaller amplifiers rather than a couple of large ones.

But of course, if you can fit 20 of those monsters in a van and still be able to have some space left for the actual air pressurizers...

Who says you need 20? Doubt anyone would use 20 500wrms amps. Space wouldnt be a problem if they wanted to though.

aha, I knew it. Another car audio myth debunked! More cone area does NOT equal higher SPL.

Thanks man, now I know how to win every dB Drag race now... :bigwink:

if i remember correctly hifonics ratings are extremely overrated so it's prolly like 8,000 watts ;) !

there's this guy at school that has the kicker solox 18" and he thinks it's 10,000 watt rms. (its 5000 rms and 10,000max). Maybe I should tell him to buy that hifonics and it will match the kicker perfect. he'd actually think about getting it too. sad...

An SPL sub for daily driving? That says alot about him.

Of course, it's not surprising that he would waste $10,000 on an competition amp such as this HiFonics.

And speaking of HiFonics, another forum actually holds a high regard towards their amps.

Without strict bench-testing of numerous HiFonics amplifiers, the opinion that they are extremely overrated is hollow and laughable.
