DD help

Post by lancer1978 »

WEll I am about to start building my newest system in my car, and I have decided on a Digital Designs 3512 DUal 2ohm sub! I want a single sub setup for weight issues and class! I have yet to decide on my amp! but I know that roughly I have 1200wrms to stickk to for a lower class! I already have 1 run of 2ga going back to my trunk, and soon to be getting a second in there for my ground! I do not run a cap or a yellow top(I will be getting a yellow top soon). I also do not run REar fill in my car(which is a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer ralliart) I have about 100sq ft of Deadener in now, and this is just my trunk! lol..my question is what do I do for my box? I know my in car frequency at my windshield is best at 40htz! Any helpful tips will be greatfully appreciated!

build a box and tune it to 34hz. 40hz is pretty low gonna be hard to get the car loud.

^ trust me on this... when it comes to loud... Bill is right 99.999% of the time, and if he says 34 go 34, and that DD will love you for it... of that I'm sure ;)

Alright, now what about placement? Since it is a Stupid Trunk car (I hate this car for that reason only)..Should I seal it into the car or face it around the otehr way? or Run my ports through the back of the trunk in where my rear fill used to go?

depends on how hard core you want to get. face the sub into the car and the port also. then seal the trunk off from the rest of the car.
