ok my brain is not functioning correctly at the moment...im trying to design a street spl setup for meca for next year and i need to keep the wattage at 4k or less......someone help me do math.......i got the fuse rating x 10 part....but are they using specific numbers regardless of the sub here or what?also what the hell is this little guy supposed to mean? 12^2 the arrow pointing up between the 12 and the 2
{(Total Amperage of In-line Fusing X 10) + Woofer Cone Surface Area} = Pressure Class #
Examples:
40 amps + 2-12 = 526 50 amps + 1-12 = 613 50 amps + 1-15 = 677 50 amps + 1-18 = 754
50 amps + 1-12^2 = 644 50 amps + 2-12 = 726 100 amps + 1-15 = 1177 100 amps + 2-18 = 1509
50 amps + 2-10^2 = 700 100 amps + 2-12 = 1226 200 amps + 2-15 = 2353 200 amps + 2-18 = 2509
50 amps + 3-10 = 736 200 amps + 2-12 = 2226 400 amps + 4-15 = 4707 400 amps + 4-18 = 5018

twelve squared. (^ is to the power of) so 12*12 or 144what the hell is this little guy supposed to mean? 12^2 the arrow pointing up between the 12 and the 2
on the fusing, I'd suggest you find exactly how much current your amplifiers draw at the burping frequency (inductive load) in the enclosure you plan to use with the subs you plan to use.
Once you know the exact current consumption, go to BCAE1 and read up on the "fuses" section, and calculate the burn through time based on your burp length in competition.
Then you can use underrated fuses by the calculated percentage to allow you to draw the needed current to burp the system without blowing any fuses, but still make the cummulative fuse rating lower than it'd be going with the actual 100% draw rating.
