Getting help for my friends again

Post by captaincheesey »

Hey, I have a friend who is looking at Lightning Audio, not Bolt but Strike and Storm. I told him for Storm that he is going to be paying out his ass for it. And I wasn't completely sure whether or not they are a good brand, I know Bolt isn't but I'm not sure about Strike and Storm.

Give me feedback so I can find out for him.

I'd avoid anything that can be purchased at WalMart, even if it is just the lower line. Tell your "friend" (read: you) to look eslewhere.

Ok, I will for sure pass on the message. I told him that Diamond Audio was pretty good, and he likes Kicker of course. Let us say about 700 dollars for just subs, so what would be some good brands for him to buy.

$700 on subs..... and how much on amps?? Geting good subs isnt everything..... you can get $200 dollar subs and impress everyone. You need to power them correctly and have them in a well made enclosure. So get a total budget together for us to work off of.

EDIT: He will be doing his front and rear stage as well as swapping out his stock HU before he does subs. I am pretty sure he is going with Premier for the HU.

I mean, I think he wants to focus on subs first, and then we will move on to amps. I told him that the amp is pretty much gonna be the biggest and most important purchase of the whole thing. This is a future project though, because he is going to fix up his firebird before he does audio in his blazer.

Tried to post last night but the board crashed...

If your friend has $700 just for subs why was he even considering Lightening Audio, especially those found @ Wal Mart???

Also to acompany that $700 worth of subs he better have the money for proper power, amps, wiring, alternator, newer battery...

I mean, I was just kind of throwing a number out there. If he is getting Kicker he wants to get the VXs.

Hey, I read about the Audiobahn bankruptcy. Should I have him keep an eye out for some of Audiobahn's higher line products to take a sharp fall in prices so he can snatch them up?
