I know why he asked..... I also know that you really can't tell by listening. Call me stupid for even suggesting anything, jeesh. The gain was set correctly, but that is also relative considering input sensitivty between the 2 is different. If you wanna get technical, input sensitivity on my 600.1 is 0-5 volts. IIRC, input sensitivity on the IX406 is 0-2volts I believe, I will have to check, that could be wrong. I am sure that if it is someone here will let me know.

Aside from it all, any amp from a reputable manufacturer will be underrated somewhat just ensure a consistent quality product comes off the production line.

good to hear it powers up. i was hoping it would. and yes, kicker undderrates all their products really, so yes it is underrated from the 40x6 listed. ;)

can't wait for my install in a few weeks hopefully.

if thats the case (i could be wrong) that may be why it doesn't sound as loud.. could be wrong though.
