New Sealed Box

Post by solacedagony »

Finally got myself a decent sealed box built, a bit bigger than the last one so I'll have more output in the lower frequencies.

Got 3 braces inside this time. The XXX BARELY fits in there. Thank god I figured out the angle of the front piece there and cut it to that or I would have been in trouble. About 1/4" clearance from the sidewall when I plop her in there. Should have it carpetted and in tomorrow night!

Yea, I was having a lot of trouble cutting (I'm rather new to wood working in general) So I asked a couple people and they told me new saw blade. Got one after I finished the entire thing lol.
So the next one should be relatively burn free. Hopefully :)

Sounds like me when I'm trying to cut stuff,

'I'm not going to buy new blade, must keep going. Not going to buy new blade, must burn way through, not going to home depot keep going'

I get too stubborn some times.

I would have bought one, but I didn't know that's why I was having such a problem lol. Like trying to cut MDF with a bread knife.

Update. Got pics of it carpetted and terminals installed.
Had a slight problem when I went to install the sub. One of the screws went sideways into the hurricane nut somehow and it was jammed good. Ended up having to drill it out and put in a new one. The new one wouldn't stay, so I just superglued it in and put a bolt and washer through to hold it for the night. Will install the sub tomorrow after work. I'll get pics of it in my truck too.
Then, time to work on building a new amprack!
