screw dimensions to install JL subs?
screw dimensions to install JL subs?
Hi guys, I'm missing the 16 screws to install my JL 10W0's and was wondering if someone can give me the exact dimension of the screws that I need. Thanks!
You don't normally recieve screws with a subwoofer.
The screw lengths normally vary by the enclosure, thickness of materials.

The mounting holes should be between 1/16th to 3/8ths of an inch and anything that has a 1/4 inch or slightly over head should do just fine.GaryPham wrote:hmm, wat size screw head would I need though for it to fit the sub?
If you're looking for a quick and cheap install, drywall or deck screws work fine, just make sure that you predrill your holes so as not to crack or splinter the boards.

heh I think you guys are misunderstanding me, I didn't buy these brand new. I actually had my cousin buy these subs for me used locally. They both came in a sealed box but I guess the guy decided to not give us any of the screws that he had been using previously, so I just wanted to know the screw dimension that I need to screw in my subs.
While I'm already asking questions, the guy actually didn't include any of the speaker wires that he had been using either! Do I just use any 12 gauge wires for them or is there a differnt type that I need? Thanks again guys and I'm sorry if these questions are all really obvious, I don't really know that much about car audio and just hoping to learn.

Sheesh guys
#6 Drywall 1" long for the sub mounting, predrill with a 3/32" bit thru the wood.
12 or 14 Ga wiring is good. Ether will be fine. YOu will want the correct crimp on connectors. Please dont jsut twist the wire around the terminal. THis sucks, falls off and could start a fire...
