Is anyone familiar with the Power Acoustik FUBR series subs? They're 900wrms each and i found a good price for the watts they can handle. Any Reviews or experiences of this sub would be nice.

High power handling does not mean it's loud or good.

as I've said before.. you have to wonder about any product with a name like "MOFO" or "FUBR" I mean what's next? a sub called "SUXBAD"?

In the military, FUBR is "f***ed up beyond repair"
that should make ya think twice.. heh

There is a reason I refer to that company as "Power Craptastik"
you can do much better than those crumby things.. really.

Alright, just wanted your thoughts on that. I'm still planning on the Soundstream Tarantula 12's. $175 each. Can you think of any better subs at that price to reccomend?

take a look at the jl audio w3v2's. http://www.woofersetc.com has them for 179 a piece i think for 12's.

why is the power handling so low on the JL w3v2's?

I really need to write a FAQ thread about power handling ratings and thermal versus required power.
I can tell already.
I've answered that question more times than I can recall in teh last two weeks lol

I understand that power handling is only thermal, but how could a sub perform better than another sub when it can handle less watts?

Its performance has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with POWER REQUIRED!

That is just saying that this is the maximum power that can be safely used. Also it gives you a number to shoot for when buying an amp.

The biggest thing to look at is xmax. The more xmax the sub usually means the louder it will be for that given size.
