I was a little worried, when my supervisor called and woke me up. I worked a radio problem on the same jet the night before. I was pretty sure I didn't mess something up, but it will still make you wonder. So I was really releived to hear it didn't look like maintenance messed up.

Talk about a crappy day.
Damn buddy, sorry to hear that. Looked like Hydraulics or just the landing gear itself was the culprit, but doesn't sound like Radio problems, unless that is a fly-by-wire plane...I don't know planes..

Yeah its fly by wire, but the flight controls, and UHF / VHF radios are completly seprate. I work all three systems (and about 20 more) so if you have any questions let me know.
I wasn't suprised when I heard no one on the ground was hurt. Most Air Bases, have a designated punch out point (normally some poor farmers feild), and they check the area and make sure its clear before they punch out.
