^^^ Ditto it sounds like u didnt disconect your Battery and didnt fuse your power wire... so when u "Actually sparked" u fried probably not only your amp but some other essentials... If i were u i wouldnt touch it unless you can get someone to check ur Alt... If u messed that up ur amp is the least of your troubles

Experts disconnect the Neg. Battery cable before messing with anything on a car. I know novices read it in a Chiltons manual and think or say "I'll be careful". There is a reason for this and I'm feel sorry that you have to reprogram your clock and favorite radio stations, but it's not worth it if you fry everything. I don't mean to sound rude, but sometimes you learn the hard way.
And I would definately get some new RCA's

At very, very, very least pull the fuse.... It's wayyyyyyy better to pull the battery cable but if you're to lazy to do that you could atleast pull the fuse, I mean come on.... :happy055: lol
EDIT: when you pulled the deck out to run the new remote did you forget to plug the rcas back in? Oh, and did you make sure the head units sub controler thingie is ON? haha, that would suck if that was it....
But yeah, pull your battery cable and do the following... Check the inline fuse. Check the amp fuse(s)... Shorten your ground to 18" or under, making sure you have it down to bare metal... Run a new set of rcas... Hook the batter cable back up... Check and make sure the head units sub control is ON... Sit back and listen to youre new working system or rip the amp out and throw it against the garage wall for still not working...

I dont really know, to be honest with you.solacedagony wrote:Great, what was wrong?
The next day my buddy and I replaced the fuse and fuse holder with one designed for 4 gauge wire and the car started right up. I bought a new monster RCA, we hooked it up, and the amp still wasnt getting the signal from the HU so we hooked up a remote wire just to be certain. Turns out my subwoofer was blown, because we hooked it up to his amps in his car to see if it was even working. My BEST guess would be that the subwoofer only being 3 ohm stable had something to do with it, but I could be wrong. Thoughts?
