questions or advise about the JVC KD-AVX2

This is my first post, so please…just looking for some help or what not. I recently brought a Pioneer 7800 back in May, and to make a long story short…its messed up and is on back order for at least 30 to 60 days. So I decided to buy the JVC KD-AVX2. I have it and it’s SO SO compared to my Pioneer. I love the sound that both units put out, but I miss the fact that I could put pictures on the Pioneer and can’t do that with the JVC…or can I. I have looked over guides, and don’t know it I may be over looking it (which I doubt). If I cant put pictures on it, I am thinking about returning it. If I return it, can or does anyone know of other units that I can customize and don’t have some boring factory pictures with the sun setting??? Thanks for n e help!!!

Dude, with a 3.5" video screen on it, I would sure as hell think so!! But you never know, that may be a feature that they overlooked. I personally haven't dealt with any jvc decks, but I am sure there are some guys who have on here! sorry I wasn't any help

Says right in that description that you can load your own custom images onto the display!!

If its got the PICT Im sure you can.

Look for background in a menu...

Like my AR7000, the features are kinda hard to find in the endless menus

JVC has it listed as wallpaper and to use your own pics you need to upload from disc in select playback file type. Pg. 34 of the owners manual (it doesn't say much more than that though), but it can be done.
If you wanna find out more best bet is to contact JVC.

I believe you can't put your own pics in there. It doesn't have PICT. So you gotta choose outta the wallpapers they have in there. I do wish they mad it with the PICT, but that might have made it 100-150 more dollars....so they might have looked past that.

But it doesn't really bother me tho, cuz I mostly have a DVD playin.

It is sad that they didn't include PICT with the unit. Maybe the AVX3 will have it?

WallPaper You can select the background picture of the monitor from these: Standard, Red, Amber, Green, SkyBlue, Blue, Purple.

The only way, that I have seen, to display a graphic is to load a CD with Jpg files on it. That kind of defeats the purpose though as you can't do anyhting else (play the radio or what not) while the CD is in there. I have heard the you can play a mix of JPG and music, displaying the picture while the music (on the same disk) is playing. I haven't figured that out yet though..

I'm mostly going by the AVX1 unit. The AVX2 didn't change too much except for the cosmetics, from what I can tell.

It's still a sweet HU tho, a good alternative to the $$$$ 7" you can buy.
