wow
I am kind of happy the minimum wage wasn't increased. When minimum wage goes up the price of everything else goes up, I make $5.25 an hour so I would supposedly be positively effected. For instance if McDonalds has to pay all their employees atleast $2.00 more an hour it would be very unlikely for them to still have a dollar menu. Also, understand alot of Unions of contracts that require they make a certain amount of money over minimum wage.
Basically, unless a company raises the pay of someone who gets paid for example $10.00 an hour, that persons purchasing power goes way down. Meaning they will have a much harder time getting by than they had before, unless that place raises their prices if they happen to sell some kind of service.
Whenever the minimum wage is raised the price on everything else will raise to accomodate for the increase in wages paid out.

my thoughts as well. raising minimum wage would impact our economy heavily and everything else would eventually raise as well. you cant just think that making companies pay everyone more wouldnt affect their prices too. this is basic economics...JASON96R wrote:I am kind of happy the minimum wage wasn't increased. noooo we need the hike trust me and dont worry bout your dollar menu its staying there for a while... I mean in states like CT minimum wage is like 7.10 or 7.30 but what they need to do is raise it so that minimum wage becomes equivilent to the survival wage... in ct u need to make at least $10 hr to survive... i make 16 though so im ok with that

My thoughts as well. To expand on this further, I make 22.00 per hour. If minimum wage was raised all us over minimum wage would not see an increase. Why is that. If minimum wage goes up 2.00, so should my salary. It is only equally fair. As mentioned, everything would see inflation to meet the raise, but people over minimum wage would not see an increase in any way.

actually CP, the speaker is only as good as his speech writer, and that my friends, is Ben Stein..CaptainPioneer wrote:dont get me started on this... but i think i would have to consider myself a Democrat even though i have voted Rep a couple times... Personally there is nothing better than watching Bill Clinton give a speech... He is an amazing speaker, and there are few out there who can match his charisma and knowledge... he is almost what i would consider the Malcom x to the black man... well maybe not that much but still he is pretty amazing!

didn't read most of the thread but i'm saying its fucked up that the raise in minimum wage won't happen right now because someone decided they wanted to put something thats going to lower taxes (or whatever that was) for rich people on somethign thats goign to help those who dion't make as much money.
