Eclipse 8454 Problem

Post by solacedagony »

I just got an Eclipse 8454 off a guy on the DIYMA forums and installed it. Worked fine, all except for the CD playing. Everytime I put a CD in it says "INFO 3", which I found out translates to dirty or bad CD. Well every CD I put in says that. So should I talk to Eclipse about repairing this? I have the original sales receipt and I'm pretty sure all of the guy's information is on it, so hopefully they'll still repair it for me. If anyone knows anything about warranty information, please let me know how this is going to work.

Must be why he sold it.

I would definately give Eclipse a call and see if they'll fix it under warranty.

Never knew there was such a thing :) Can you point me to where I could order one? I don't know why, but when I drove into work today, the MP3 CD that I was trying to get working started working. I'm going to have to see if that's just cause it was sitting overnight and as soon as I put another CD in it'll stop working or if it is actually working. I should get the lense cleaner anyway though.

Also, how do you enable pro mode on the 8454? I can't seem to figure out (without the manual) how to enable it. Can't set T/A, active crossovers, PEQ, etc. without it. I think it's basically the same as the 8455, just an older model.

The switch in the middle of the right rotaty knob. Press and hold it for about 10 seconds. Thats how you do it on the 8455.

Hmm, that didn't do it. The left knobs toggles Loud mode when you press it. Right knob only selects stuff. I'll have to keep trying stuff :-\
