Well I'm going to compete tomorrow...

Post by MobileAudio219 »

Local shop is hosting a db drag racing event and I've decided to enter (maybe). Whats holding me back is the fact that my truck is going to be down for a while so I'll have to use my cousins truck (is that against the rules? If it is I'll just let him run it.)

I know I dont stand a chance on winning, but I still think it'll be a great stress reliever... The equiment is already in his truck (he's been borrowing it for the last few months) so all I need to do is toss in the comp box (already built).

It's 25 dollars to enter, but you get a free shirt.. :p

I'll be running 2 12" cvrs (ported) off a jbl 600.1... The truck will be a 97 dakota ext cab... I'm hoping for around 140db, should be able to do it...

If I had another I would... I know nothing about how the comp is going to work, or what class I'll be in.. I'm just going to show up and see what happens...

We had this same set up in my cousins old dakota and it was pretty freakin loud... I'm going to try and get the very most of it, if the subs blow in the process then so be it, I'm getting new subs anyways...

I'm shooting for 140db, pretty sure it will be the termlab mic so if I get anything around there I'll be pretty happy... :happy055:

Anybody want to give me any pointers?

This will be my first comp and I'm already addicted I think....

I got everything pretty much ready, waiting for my cousin to get up (works night shift) so we can install the new box (have to pull the seats to do so). I think the rule book says he has to run it since its his truck, thats ok, he'll give me credit if he does any good... Next season I'm going to buy a crx or something to play with...

Anyways, nobody has any pointers? :sad017:

Well, I finished it all up... And Wow, I forgot how loud these subs get in this get in this box! I'm not sure how well it'll mic but for a daily driver it's easily loud enough... I'm still hoping for a near 140db run, if we get that I'll be really happy...

I'll post the score tomorrow evening when we get back...

JBL 600.1

2 12" cvrs in a 6 cuft box tuned to 35hz (yes, the box is to big, but it actually sounds really good and gets pretty loud doing so....

The box sits on the back seat, but it takes the whole thing up... All the factory interior pieces are installed... I'm hoping to be in street b, if not oh well... I forget the car has to be off, duh!!!! So 135-139 would be a good score? Next time around the blazer will be ready to compete, it should be alot funner (atleast for me)...
