I don't know if all car's cooling systems work the same, but with mine, it sort of recycles the coolant through the reservour. It sucks in the coolant from the bottom and spits it back in the top.

Yes, it will cycle through... Has your car over heated since? Have you check for leaks and made sure your fan is kicking on?

It's possible for it to temporarily stick shut, but when it gets that bad it's usually on the brink of sticking shut for good, at least with my experience (bad luck) it has been.

nope, my car has ran fine except for the exhaust sounding shitty and some other crap. I think its runnin rich and i need to get it scanned and crap cause the check engine comes on when i start the car then goes off as i start driving.

I realized I only have one place to put coolant and that is the reservour. My 95 sunfire doesnt have a cap on top of the radiator lol so I guess i did it right anyway. Im just gonna run water and the rust proofer till the end of september than get my coolant flushed for winter. Ill probably replace the thermostat too. I really need to change the tranny filter and fluid sometime soon (not over do but i dunno if i trust the place i bought it from lol)

was it running crappy before you got it hot?

Take into fact that the tranny fluid runs through the radiator (auto) it probably got pretty hot itself, I'd probably go ahead and change that asap...

well it was the relay for the fan that died. I got a new one for 15 bucks what a rip off lol. I put in a fail safe thermostat, changed the oil and changed the tranny filter and fluid. Hopefully the filter is in the whole was. I pushed it in as hard as i could and it didnt go any more. God cardboard gaskets or whatever suck. The gasket was fused to the tranny and it took me like 30 minutes to an hour to get it all off.

2.2 liters of fury... haha, seriously though, they arent really that bad of cars considering how cheap you can pick them up... I'm thinking about getting one up for a daily driver so I can v8 the blazer and not die with gas prices...
