Image

have not drawn out the connections to fuse box and how the inverter for the ps2 will connect to the batt. the xm and sirius im still wondering if i want both or just the sirius in the car maybe both if its not to much for a device--will i need the x3 device for that?..will i lose voice or touch screen funcitonality by adding this device?

LOOKING FOR

---------- how to' - fuse box to power any devices(not to keen on fuse box wiring)
----------do they sell power inverters that have different connections than the (jumper cable looking clamps) that will go to the battery? 600 watt should be good for ps2 right?
----------obvious the rcas from the sony HU sub out to the amp must be connected...

thanks alot for anyone who takes time with this and not just posts a one line no help answer.......

umm with a quick glance, you're missing a fused distribution block, a front stage, center channel, rear stage, and amplification for those.. that's to start.
also missing upgrades to the charging system, read: larger alternator and isolated battery

If you want to run an aftermarket deck in that car you will have to upgrade everything. Most Acuras have an internal amp in the factory system (unless your talking about the lowest models). So your going to be WAY better off if you upgrade everything.

upgrade everything???? im under the assumption that the audio connecting from the sony HU to the aux in in the center console should play audio through the stock speakers ? the amp is connected to the HU by the sub outputs in the back of the radio. Wouldnt that work like that?

So the AUX in is factory? If it is it will work, but your movies will only be in stereo, and will sound pretty bad. You will need a RCA converter too.

I still say you best bet is upgrading everything, and use the AUX in on your aftermarket deck for your nav unit. Thats what I did with my accord, and she sounds amazing.

take your car to an audio shop. have them tell you what you need, and do the install for you. you don't have any idea what you're doing, honestly, and all you're doing now is digging yourself a deeper hole.

If you want to get a vague idea of where to start, go to http://www.bcae1.com and learn everything on the site, from top to bottom. Then you'll know enough to start laying out the system.. maybe.

Not trying to be mean, but Glass is right. Figure out how much you want to spend, and then start looking into audio shops. Take your time, and MAKE SURE you pick a good shop. If you tell us where you live we might be able to help.

I want to stress the shop you pick. Since your pretty new at this some shops will try to screw you over. So be cautious and let us know if you think something is fishy. And STAY AWAY from Best Buy and Circuit City. Your way better off with a local store that carries some pretty good brands.

Once you have your stores narrowed down, and they have helped you pick out a few systems, look at the FAQ section and the Good Bad Ugly list. It will help you narrow down the brands, and come to a final set up.

there are some things you learn through education and experience both that are important to know and consider when laying out a system.
a few of those things include:
-subs are nice, but 70% of your audio is the front stage, so you want good front speakers, not stock crappy ones.
-DVD is a 6 channel source. you need a center channel, good fronts, rears, and subs if you want decent movie playback.
-a loud, clear front stage requires amplification.. not just head unit power which is about 12 watts per speaker.
-you don't want to spend three grand on a DVD Navi system, amp, and subs, and have piss poor speakers and no amp for everything that isn't bass. It's not a balanced system and the subs will drown out everything else.. vocals, guitars, symbols, all of it.
-speaker placement and positioning is even more vital than picking the right speakers for the job.

that's just a brief peek into the sort of things you have to consider if you don't want to be severely disappointed in the end results of spending thousands, or even hundreds on an audio system.
