Italy wins over France!

What an eventfull game on sunday!!! A game that extended into overtime and penalty shootouts resulting in an Italian Azzuri win. France clearly was the more technical and physically fit team in the game with blinding speed and creativism, but Italy has such a solid defense that it was very difficult to score or shoot accurately. The best shots from the game mostly came from the famous Zinedine Zidane, who in the second half of the over time was expelled from the game for a vicious head butt to Mazzeroti the Italian left defenseman. In my opinion Zidane would never ever have done that unless something completely unspeakable was said to him... The last time he ever was carded for something like this was in 1998 against the Saudi Arabian team where a defender said somethign Ethnically and racially provacative to insult Zidane. I can only imagine the same has happend here. Zidane's loss on the field played into Italy's weary hands as they held on untill they could get to penalties where France, having not been able to use thier 3 best Penalty shooters were defeated. Italy may or may not have deserved to win but one thing is for certain, thier captain Cannavaro, deserves every bit of praise and congratulations for his amazing efforts in the backfield. The loss of Zidane is a very difficult thing to bear for any real Soccer fan out there. He has been a primary influence for some of the best played soccer out there, and his presence will surely be missed... Tell me what you think guys, just try not to bring Politics into this one.

I had to work and couldn't watch it, but I guarantee that Italian guy that got headbutted just fell on his ass like pretty much all Italians do when someone lays a finger on them. I still wanted them to win though.

heheh actually, well kinda but not really. I agree with you on the Italian's theatrics on the field but really Zidane really pounded this guy with his head!!!

Good thing Zidane won that fight. That is probably the first fight the French has won in like 200 years.

Thats why a lot of ppl don't like it since they don't ass slap each other on the field or in the shower.

Hehehe yea hard to find a "REAL" Italian these days any way... most of them are nice guys... I have played with Italians my whole life as a soccer player. Infact i was the only Polish kid on our team "Bridgeport Italians" i know stupid name, but any way... Italians are great soccer players and are known for thier beautiful footwork and hard play, but they are definitely tied in a race for most theatric players out there... Bottom line they are way too emotional. I cant tell you how many times i have been in a game where if we tie or lost my teamates would either be arguing with the referee or literally crying. 18yr old plus kids crying cause they lost a soccer game or because they thought that they got fouled... I have a lot of respect for their skill but their acting is a detriment to the game when they fall over after a small bump.

The other team i was talking about being way to theatric would be Portugal... But they are different, they are just really dirty

Ditto how many times do u see a guy grab another guys ass in soccer, just about never... Football the quarterback is giving a reacharound to the Center for christs sake lol
