Phoenix Gold Xenon X200.2 and X600.1

Post by pdb »

I have purchased http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fus ... ct_ID=4357 these CDT components and http://www.cdtaudio.com/versabox_subs.htm 2 of these 10" CDT subs.

I am looking at http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fus ... uct_ID=472 this Phoenix Gold amp to power the components and http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fus ... uct_ID=475 this Phoenix Gold amp to power the subs.

The subs will be in a sealed enclosure. The car in which the system will be installed is a 2006 Ford Focus sedan.

Will those amplifiers provide sufficient power to run the speakers and subs properly?

Please help!

Those amps will power everything perfectly. Those amps will do what they say, I had one and the birth sheet was over the rated power. If you are set on the equipment you want, go ahead and get it. If you want some suggestions, I am sure some of these guys will have some input. I think you might want to look into geting some higher end amps if you have the money to compliment the higher end choice of speakers. What are your plans for installation with the components?? I would put them in some well made kick panels to make them shine.

I am not completely set on those amps, but I can get them at a really good price from indoaudio. I was looking at the JL 300/2 and the JL 500/1, but, for the price the PG seem like the way to go. I am a complete noob, this is my first system. I was planning on spending ~$1000, but that went out the window :p So far, the speakers and subs cost $650 shipped (still haven't received the tracking number yet :sad017: ). The PG amps will cost about $370 shipped. I am getting a shop pack (80 sq. ft.) of Second Skin Damplifier Pro for about $260. I have to get amp kits, wiring, adapters for the front speakers and HU (Alpine CDA 9805 from my old car). Plus, I have to pay someone to install all of this stuff (Someone from another forum who installs professionally is going to help me out) Soooo, If the PG amps will do the job, I think I should get them. But, I'm open to suggestions...just don't tell my wife :bigwink:

For the amps, you might be able to find a Alpine MRD-M605, Diamond D3 600.1, or JBL GTO601.1 for around the same price as the PG X600.1 on ebay. Those JL's would cost you a pretty penny though compared to any of these. For the 2-channel amp, there are a ton many options for ya. Look at the Good/bad list in the FAQ to see what brands are rated at.

For the wiring, look at Knu Konceptz. http://www.knukonceptz.com their wiring is pretty cheap and is very good quality.

I've never been to any type of car audio competition. Too bad I have plans for tomorrow that can't be changed.

Thank you for your input.
