alright guys after steaming through the site, i want to get back into a system....before I had 2 12" kicker l7s, with a 2000 watt amp, and that was just a little too much. Now i just want something small like a single 10 or 12. and i dont have a lot of money at all. what would be some good suggetions for sound and but still in a good price range, of hopefully under $400-500 bucks? :happy055:

Expenditure of 400-500 dollars...

Post by toomanyamps »

You say you are not looking for the romp in the trunk no more.I think 2 10's would do you right...Pyramid makes a decent but cheaper sub and also amp...Now you can do alot with pyramid if you do the boxes and stuff right.....Head dunit well duraabrand is ok for the money and you will be amping the factory speakers I would susspose....So really if you have a factory head unit and a decent sounding set of door speakers just use the head unit that is in the car along with the speakers.Amp them and go from there. Then your expenditure will be around 3-4 hundred.....This will leave you with enough to build a good box and also have yourself a decent sounding system...and really if you need wiring hit me up I got about 40 spools of all different kinds of wiring from stinger...I would be happy to send you what you need free of charge......I just can't do like 20 ft of 0 gauge or shit like that..But I will hook you up if need be.....Hope that helped

yeah, i dont kno about the pyramid and durabrand.... but for some good stuff at low prices , like around 120-170 a sub look at cerwin vega v-max, alpine type-r, i think elevation audio sqx is in that price range but im not sure, eclipse aluminum, ascendant audio arsenal, image dynamics idq....among others. and for amps... jbl, kicker, alpine, mtx, rf... all have good amps at a low price to push some of those.

Another sub to add in there would be a Sound Splinter RL-i.... it is great for the money. A few more amps, maybe Hifonics and Directed. Search around and refer to the Good/Bad list in the FAQ. If you have any questions about certain products, just ask and i am sure someone on here has used it.
