Website help

Post by Ryan from Ohio »

Ok so I found a template I want.

I know a majority of what I want on the site. I just cant seem to get it in there right.

Its a flash template that uses .txt files for info.

I got it to work on the first template but I found they since have upgraded that template and V2 is soooo much cooler!

Help!

http://www.basstronics.net

Yes I finally registered the name again, but had to get the .net as some crackhead took the .com...

Anyhow ya...

The pages are generated from .txt files read by the flash. I dont understand it quite, and I dont see why what Im trying to do wont work.

If you explain your problem a little better I might be able to help you out. A friend of mine also knows quite a bit about designing and writing webpages, since he went to school for it.

Well I guess I just dont know how to post this, so try to follow along.

I downloaded this here template:

http://www.caraudiocentral.net/ryan/docs/07-V2.zip

Ok, now there are some .txt files in some code, I think CSS?

Anyhow you modify them to make your page. Flash reads these .txt files...

Now Im trying to put my text in there, but I cant get it to work right with the scrolls?

Im really lost. I dont see WHY its not working. I take out the orignal text, add mine and the scroll is missing. If I add my text to whats alreay there its still missing... I realize the second link/button/directory doesnt have the scroll feature, but I saved a later one that does have it as Directoy2 so I had it...

So it work until I modify the text, then nadda.

HELP!

are you sure you have all the files in the right places, make sure your paths are correct. Put what you have so far, in you CAC Diretory, and then I can see how work.

William tried helping me. I see what he is saying, but the problem still persists.

I just dont understand why that scroll box disapears? I dont see any special coding to keep it there, call it up, etc.

Heres the location to what I got:

http://www.caraudiocentral.net/ryan/bas ... index.html

Heres one to the original template:

http://www.caraudiocentral.net/ryan/template/index.html

And Chris since you got FTP and server access you can get the files :)

This is really bugging me...

I'm looking at your first link, and I see the scroll bars? right there in the center right? Or was there another page, it wasn't working?
