wow really? Well thats good as long as it isnt unique whips doin it! LOL speaking of which i was watching the lead installer guy do a fiberglass box and i was kinda questioning where the hell he learned how to do that... All he did was stretch fleace over the box and only used the Resin to coat it, I never once saw him use actual Fiberglass nor did i see any at all. Granted it was a box that was meant just to hold a 13in lcd tv and 2 4" speakers but still wouldnt u want to put at least 2 layers on for structural support. My pod has i think 4 layers on it and its just for speakers

on the vinyl I see what they did right off.
they back-padded the vinyl with thin, open cell foam to make it look softer, but they didn't glue down the vinyl well enough, or staple it behind, to hold it in place, so the padding pushed it loose wehn it expanded a bit in hot weather. It was a simple but fairly easy mistake, and generally just poor execution.. but simple to fix.
Generally I think Reme does decent install work for UA.. the problem is Will rushing them all the time, which means he has to cut some corners to keep pace with the store owner's scheduling. That's more common than I care to go into.. when you have 6 or 8 cars lined up, waiting for stuff, and half of them have the owners waiting for the cars in the showroom, you have to haul ass to get the job done. He has good turnout though, and the end result seems to work without returns.
Also remember, they only highlight the work on TV.. most of the labor you never see on the show. They skip most of it to keep viewer interest momentum going.
drama over technical accuracy.
I think WCC gave up PMR to lose the crappy stigma they were getting from doing the show. I think they lost more serious clients because of that show.. so GAS took over the show as their install shop for TV.

From what i understand about WCC... they have teamed up with the tv producers that did American Chopper and are having a show dedicated to them... their quote was "They were glad to be installing on tv, not for TV." So yea that is probably it as well as the bad stigma that they were doign stupid installs. I like Uniques jobs better not just because they do high end vehicles but they definitely have an amazing shop. Also i really respect alot of the work that they do and Reme does sometimes take the time to explain how to actually do somethign so u learn at the same time while watching... with PMR it was really just about blinging up a piece...
btw sry bout the language... i couldnt think of what else GAS could stand for besides that at the time...

I agree with everything kiki said about UA and Reme.
I dont like how they paint entire interiors with spray paint though... I mean its ok to accent certain pieces that dont see much wear, but door panels and other pieces that see abuse are going to look like crap in no time at all...
