i have the jl xr 6.5 comps. the tweeter is very slightly harsh at first, but on the crossover you can tone them down by 1.5,3,4.5 or up by 1.5dbs. once i put them at -3 db im lovin em. ive also heard it is important to keep the tweeter close to the mid on this set becuz of a steep crossover. ive done this also, in the kick panel, and the results are great. definitely worth the money if you can mount them properly. hope this helps

I've got some JL Xr650CSi. I bought them on sonicelectronix with a 1 year warranty for like $350 or so.
I like them, given they are my first aftermarket set of components. I'm happy they sound clear, midbass keeps up with my sub. I'm not sure in the ears of an audophile which would sound better though.

Focal doesn't make a Comp set in that price range. Step it up to about $300 and you can get into some Focal Access comps.evo_from_hell wrote:You could also take a look at Focal comps.
