because i am a noob i guess i can get away with this question. should i install my HU and amp at the same time because of the wiring issues (speakers)or can i put the HU in and in a couple of weeks (next paycheck) install the amp.
I am having a tough time shelling out $400 for a HU. i mean the red hot chili peppers can sound only so good, right. thanks for any input

i don't know which head unit i am going to buy yet, but it will be in the $200-250 range, and i don't know which amp yet either. i don't know if i want a sub yet, i would have to put it in the trunk of my civic and lay the back seat down to hear it, so i dont know if i am going to do the sub. as you can tell i am still in the planning stage. i will run the rca's for sure, and the amp will be in trunk. thanks for the advice

you dont have to lay the seat down to hear it trust me on that... If its a good set up u should hear it no problem seats up or down. Also make sure u seal that trunk well if u have made the decision to throw a sub in there. Civics are notorious for rattle in the trunks, get some good Dynamat, Peel n' seal, Second Skin or some other noise deadener, insulation that can be put in the trunk.
