That is one hell of a news story.

I'm wondering about some of my previous repairs to a vehicle I no longer own... At least I'd never been to Jiffy Lube.

Basically, some undercover team did some stuff such as marked their oil filter with a smiley face. And put cameras in their car. And they found out that Jiffy Lube employees charged them for things, and didn't do it. They did this at 9 jiffy lubes within their area and 6 of them did the same thing. Then when they went to talk to them, the managers all sent the news crew to the district person. And he denied being that district manager and he said he was someone else.

Ya, the district manager said he was a customer named Alex. (lol) They asked him which car was his, and he pointed at one in the bay. So the news crew walked around and found the real owner waiting for his car to be done.

my friend had his 80s Monte Carlo SS in to a Jiffy Lube for brakes once.
Got the car back, got on I-95 in Washington DC, and was going 70MPH on his way home, when the front wheels flew off of the car.
They didn't torque down his lugnits.. Just finger-tightened them and sent him off.
Car did a nose plant on the beltway and destroyed the front end of the car.. which his father made him get rid of after that, and was replaced with some crappy little toyota tercel or something. What a lousy deal that was.

Anyway, you couldn't pay me enough to take a car to those jokers.

Funny story, One of my rotors on my old Rabbit in the rear left of the car i thought i had tightened the lugs down but i guess i didnt or they were stripped or something... It was like something out of a movie or cartoon... all i heard was a small thud and theni saw the tire roll past me and then the back end thudded down at 30mph... really somethign to see if anyone happend to see me do that on my road. LOL

My cousin had a nice Toyota truck, took it there for an oil change. Well, they didn't put any oil in it, engine died that day or the next day or something...he lost so much money on that. It's bullshit what they do.

You will never find a stronger advocate of doing your own work than I. I hate taking things somewere to have work done. Mechanics smell people coming a mile away. Not all of them are Jack***es, but the majority are. Do it yourself, atleast you know it is done right.
