I bought an ava 15 from a tag sale today ... some guy said it was given to him by a friend before he passed away ... long story .. any ways the guy said he had no interest in it .. and hed sell it to me for 10 dollars .. so i had to buy it .. its in very good condition but I dont know if its in working order ....
how can i test the sub? i dont have an amplifier so are there any other ways i can test it ... i know theres a way to do with a 9v battery ... but im not sure how to do it ..
can u guys give me any ideas on how to test it out?

connect the negative terminal of the speaker to the negative terminal of the 9v battery and the positive terminal of the speaker to the positive terminal of the 9v battery and watch your speaker. If the cone moves, it's probably good. If it doesn't move, either your battery is dead or the speaker is. Test the battery by putting the terminals on your tongue. You'll get a nice little jolt but you'll know if it's good or not. lol.

a DMM will tell you if the coil DCR is fairly acurate.. a 4 ohm sub should read about 3.6 ohms
test coils for continuity and DCR.
after that just hook the speaker up to an amp and try it out.
you can also make sure the cone isn't 'frozen' due to a fried coil.
