i have a problem..rca's?

Post by lotas »

Ok well here's my problem...

Only the left speaker is playing correctly (the right one plays nearly impossible to hear, only able to hear if you unplug left speaker) I figured maybe I had something wired worng with the RCAs and settings on my amp, so basically I gave the right speaker the RCAs and still the problem persists (But when left speaker is given, it works fine).

what does this sound like to you guys? Could something be wrong with the inputs on my amp? Im really lost. The speakers are brand new so i dont see how they could be blown. Any ideas? thanks

Might be a blown channel on the amp.

I would play a test tone if you could and measure the output on the speaker-outs and compare the voltage. ...if possible.

well i took it to my cousin who repairs amps and HU's and he said it pssed the bench test fine. He said all channels were in perfect working condition and everything so know I just get to find out if one of my CDTs is blown and check all my wires...fun.

sorry god, for accusing you ;)

What about the RCA's behind the head unit? Are they touching metal or anything? It could be the head unit again, no?

Well im not 100% sure what happened but now the left speaker is the one not playing correctly.

this confirms that there is no speaker damage, and that the amp is not damaged. It has to be some sort of setting or it is an RCA connection somewhere.

what could cause this? I dont think its that will, because I had the HU pulled out when the speakers were playing and it was not touching metal and it was still like that.

what the heck could this be? i cant figure it out, im just glad my speakers arent damaged.

I assume you unplugged the RCA's when you had the amp tested, maybe you switched the wired when you replugged it in? That could explain why the left speaker does not play now. Try switching it again to see what happens.
