CD question

Post by Ryan from Ohio »

Ok heres my issue:

My cars STOCK CD deck will NOT play burned CDs unless they are direct copies of the regular CD.

So my question is: Is there some sort of file it reads before it gets to the CDA file music?

My friend that makes music gave me one of his burned CDs to copy. I did the direct copy and also ripped the music to my hard drive as MP3's. THe direct copy plays in my car, but the MP3's into CDAs wont...

I cant figure it out, and I want to be able to make mixed CDs and play them but it wont work on any!

HELP!!!

It sounds like you are making an ordinary data cd. You should have an audio cd option in the program you are trying to burn with. Also make sure you are finalizing the discs too.

You might want to get Nero. I've always had good luck with it.

I'm not sure that HUs will play a mixed (or enhanced) CD. Remember that you can't just transfer the format to CDA and burn it as a data CD. That won't work. When you burn an audio CD, it puts it in a standard format for standard CD players.

I burn them as music CDs via NERO.

Maybe Im not finalizing the discs!

I will look into this more tonight!

Thanks for that tip BILL!

The car is a 2000, so not like super new but its not old either!

If this works I will be SO HAPPY!

Im so tired of listening to the limited CDs I have. 99% of them are mid 90's rap from when I was in school...

One more thing, make sure you only have one session on the disc! You really don't ever want to use a multi session disc for anything. They tend to be problems for most machines.
