Just bought a pair of 12" audiobahn compression subs need help choosing the right amp

Post by Audi0b@hnPhr34k »

I've looked around on the audiobahn site (mostly because i like to stick with their products) and i've seen a couple amps i could use... but i've kept my eye on the A4125HCT. Seems like a good choice to me, but could anyone think of a different amp for the job? $1000 is quite a bit of money, and i don't know if i can shell that out for the amp. I mean i want something that will handle the subs good and all (great actually), but until my state taxes come in, i'm going to have to look for one that is a little cheaper and i was hoping you guys had a few suggestions.. thanks a bunch.

What's the RMS rating and impedance of them? Were gonna need info such as that before we can recommend an amp for them. Also, I looked at that amp, you don't need a 4 channel amp. USUALLY power is cheaper in a mono amp than if you buy a multi channel, so take a look into that.

PS the thread title is waaaaay too long

the subs are 2 ohm DVC, 1 or 4 ohm operation with 1200 watt RMS rating.

Why would you want to spend $1,000 on an Audiobahn amp of all things?

I just cant reccomend you any amp made by Audiobahn, its just not ethical ;)

U got that backwards. The amp doenst handle the subs...the subs handle the amp. this amp could push both of those if wired in series down to 2 ohm

i wouldnt give audiobahn the total rms power tho...it could be catastrophic...

My advice is to definitely let Justin from Detroit to hook you up...just not with audiobahn...look into the Arc amps he sells..top of the line build quality and performance. You'll probably never want to change amps again.

It would kind of be a waste to buy an Arc amp for Audiobahn subs IMO. But I guess if you plan to get better subs later then you might as well buy a good amp now so you don't have to buy another amp later too.

Exactly..I didnt want to down the subs. He's already got them so he'll use them. Once he learns more he'll probably think about switching subs and be glad he chose Arc for his amps. You really cant go wrong with running them if you can swing it.
