I can get a pair of infinity kappas for about 80 bucks shipped or a pair of CD CL-6x for 70 bucks shipped, which should I get, im thinkin about doin this cause the sonys I have atm are failing, I can tell cause im picking up bits of distortion in certain songs, its not too noticable in rap but in evanescence you can hear it alot. Which has better midbass and over all sound quality? Heck I could get their TW-25/LP for like 45 bucks, they are normally 150, I should do it just because their so cheap lol
I would have liked to get adire koda 6s seein they have a 6 or 7 mm xmax on the woofer lol

If you assign I name to it to specify them, it's like the lower-treble in a sense. That is for mid range (or middle frequencies). Generally they will play as high as 5000 hz and as low as 100 hz. Many companies try to make the lowest frequency extention from the woofer; I've seen MB Quart state 32 Hz as the lowest frequency.
Mids are anywhere from 2" to 9" in diameter. But just because you see a 6.5" speaker does it mean it's a midrange, JL Audio made a 6.5" sub once (maybe they still do).

They are made for the midrange frequencies and only reproduce midrange frequencies, as long as they are crossed over correctly. I have 3 way components (woofer, midbass, and tweeter). All the low frequencies go to the 6 1/2" woofer, mid frequencies to the 5 1/4" midbass, and all high frequencies to the tweeter.
