Q-Logic vs. SubZero

Post by nist7 »

The subwoofer is a 12" Adire Brahma MKII

Debating between these two:

Q-Logic QLH1.2512sx or SubZero ABS121

Granted, the SubZero box will own Q-Logic, no doubt about that. But it is also about five times as expensive, when shipping is included. And I am quite tight on cash, but am able to squeeze out the needed amount for that SubZero.

So the question emerges: Is it worth it to shell out much more for the Subzero?

P.S. Why are there no SubZeros on eBay? :angry

you do know you can build a box for less than that right? :p if you arent sure how, it really isnt that hard and if you take your time it will turn out great and save you money... buuuuuuut.... Q Logic boxes arent bad for prefab i wouldnt guess.. ive never seen/heard nothin special about em when a friend or someone has em.... but ive never used a prefab box.... i am not sure on Sub Zero boxes... so try some researching i guess..

I cna tell you this much. the Subzone will not sound as good as the Q-Logic. Keep in mind I amn ot talking about that old crusty box in the link. you need to pick up one of the new 2005 boxes. they are BAD ASS. they have interchangeable baffles, so you can put whatever size woofer in whatever size enclosure, they are all ported, but come with an interchangable port plug for a sealed enclosure. they look better than the subzone box too. I have had both, and I can tell you the new box is considerably better than both the old QL and the current Subzone boxes. I can't find a link to the pics of the new products, but they are friggin awesome.

Hmm, looks like i'll be making a little trip down to the shopping center, where all the BBs, CCs, and UEs are.

Man, it's so fun talking to those auto audio guys. Some of them have no clue what I'm talking about! hehehe, knowledge is sweet, sweet power... :words
