You really need to write a book. That was the best ever.

Im not getting why you would work Joe up over your JL comments? Its gonz sugguesting the JL stuff. Its ok though as hes new and doesnt really know what Joe has or Joes tastes.

Interesting thread. Honestly I would go for the Mc. Its got more power and probably as good if not better build quality. If you can swing it just buy the one and keep your Audison amps. THat way if you dont like the Mc you can revert back.

If money is tight go for the switcharoo!

Well as for Kentucky...
They're probably all in an uproar over JL because we took the MDX to a car detailler down there before finals. Some of the homies wanted to hear it, seems cleaning it without the ability to listen was sheer torture on them.

Anyways, we demo'd the system for em, and the whole staff was taking turns in and out of the truck. When we left, I'm sure each person had to change his pants, for one reason or another. I'm sure word spread LOL :happy055: :p

That JL setup, with Focal and Audison for front stage, was seriously one of the most impressive sounding, in terms of tonality, output, control, just all around crazy good shit.

I have the feeling that sub-wise, nothing can really compare in terms of both SQ and SPL in a relatively small sealed enclosure. I have'nt heard anything close, yet. Expensive, yes, but worth it, probably.

I have a FOCAL 33kx so the 13w7 isn't needed.
Oh man, I missed that! :surprised
I'd love to hear that Focal sub.

it wasnt for joe....he just happened to post before i did...i was just giving jonathon some crap because believe me that mentality whether you think it does or not...it just applies in areas where personal creativity exists....for example i am into motorcycles, not crotch rockets but garage built bobbers and choppers. there is a new trend developing for rat bikes....bikes that look like shit but are mechanically solid....or not....i have to admit that while rat bikes arent my thing id rather see home built forward controls that are rattle canned black than see shiny new billet aluminum ones that are catalog bought...there are the joneses, there are the people who try to keep up with the joneses, and then there are people who dont give a crap what the joneses are up to and dont want to reflect that mini van/suv/honda ridgeline attitude that has affected the masses......im not saying i take it that far but when you have kids daily coming into your shop telling you their setup is the best in the world.....they need that spoiler for high speed stability in their stock civic with like 100 hp.....when there pants are falling off and their seat is laid so far back you look up through the sunroof just so they can attain that "gangsta lean" you do become a bit jaded....i had a guy tell me the other day that a good installer can get the same results by picking up some xplod subs at wal-mart as you can buying high end subs....of course for every ten guys who have things like that to say there is one well spoken intelligent customer who wants it done right......

And in the case of car audio? You'd have the same shiny billet aluminum controls, except one is from a company most people have never heard of, you've never heard feedback from, and never done business with before. The other is raved about, the quality is highly regarded, and it comes from a trusted company with proven business practices. Same thing, same function, same appearance, same marketing chutzpah, different logo stamped upon it. With both you've had no control over the design, the mechanics, or the appearance of it. So you get the one nobody has heard about just because? Gee, let's whip out the creativity points, Mr. Unique has mastered the Google search function :lgh

You don't care what the Joneses are up to? Would you like your sausage gravy shipped UPS or FedEX :p If I'm worried about "reflecting the lemming attitude", then I'm more tied up in what people think than I am what's best for my wants/needs. Either crowd is investing an active effort to either go to or shy away from a specific brand, for that reason I'd put them in the same category-people that prioritize what others think instead of getting the best performance for the money spent. I'm not going to accept an inferior piece of equipment just because it's different.

All in fun :D
