Someone broke into my car..

In the midst of buying my new system, I get into my car today, about ready to go to the pots office to send something. And I see the window is broken, glass everywhere in the back seat.

Yes, someone broke the rear window, the smaller part, at least not the bigger window. They went into my trunk, and the onyl day I forgot to take out of my ipod out of the car, they got it.

Brand new video ipod for my birthday. Less than 1 month old. Stolen. It was in the center console so they couldn't see it. But Yah, they took my radios faceplate too, I had the faceplate hidden in the glove box. I know tis stupid but I figure if they can't see it, they won't jack it.

Anyone know a good website where I can get a faceplate? Besides Ebay?

I'm reall mad right now, kidn of feel like crying =( Around like $400 for the window I bet. And like $300 for the ipod. And like $100 for the faceplate I'm estimating. This sucks...

I live in a nice neighborhood and showed nothing in my car too.

Damn, it has never happened to me, but it happen to my sis and her faceplate got stolen, I got her a 600 dollar cd player. And Ya I was pissed, but not like you since this is your shit. Does your insurance cover anything like this? I mean they should since you pay outta your ass for it. Atleast for the window they should. I would have to say ebay would be the best place to buy a new faceplate. Thats were I my sis's from. Sorry for the mishap man. I just wish sometimes that the people who stole shit would get a swift kick in the face. And fingers cut off!!! Then we would see who would be stealin.

Yah man, I feel like getitng a baseball bat and letting my anger out on some random person. But at the same time I feel like crying, window shouldn't be too bad, they only broke the back part and the rear window still rolls down fine.

But total cost approxmate
Ipod Video $300
Faceplate $75 (radio is like $125)
Window $300? I'm assuming? I can take a picture and can someone give me an estimate or do you guys get what I'm saying? It's the back part of the rear window, its seperate by a rubber thing.

I think I know what I did wrong, I took my radio out, I had my trunk cover on, so they must've thought I had an expensive system or something. In reality, I had next to nothing showing. The first thing the person did was go into my trunk. Or so it seems, so from now on, I'm just taking every single thing valuable out of my car, leaving the covers off..

yeah happened to me once just busted out the passenger door window, guess someone came outside before they could really get started stealing, went to a salvage yard for the window and replaced it. nothing pisses you off more than that though.

Yah man, I'm furious. Really mad, going to be a long ways back in my system now.. not to mention it makes me REALLY uneasy and unsure if I should get my system or not. Should I file a police report or is it not worth it?

Just filed a police report. I think I might've left my radio out, maybe thats why. Not even an expensive radio too. What's getting me is that the only time I leave my ipod in the car, they break into the car.

The police report will be useless. I filed one and nothing happened with it.

I had a stereo ripped out of my car too, so i know how you feel. but i had head unit, amp, and subs all stolen. Right out of my driveway. Talk about feeling violated. I was so pissed.

Anyway, i think the side window for my Jimmy was between 200 and 300 bux. So it'll probably be the same for you. I would pay for it yourself, otherwise your insurance rate might go up.

Yah I figured the police report would be useless. But whatever, you knew know.

Did your car have an alarm? Wasn't it a BMW? I'm thinking about getting a pager alarm, someone touches my car, I'm running outside with a baseball bat and hitting faces in.

thats just the way the world turns. Well here in the USA, I still say they should get a hand or fingers cut.
