sound deadening question
sound deadening question
i have just put a cheep sony system (by cheep i mean i spent under $500 for EVERYTHING (kenwood cd player and 5 1/4, sony 1200watt amp [BS} and xplod 12s -oh yeah and free boston acustic 6*9s) in my girlfriends civic. for the money it is fine but the trunk rattles to all hell. I am facing the subs into the car but i know i am losing alot of sound. even with the subs facing forward, i can still hear the car shake from inside and at full volume-i cring to think about what it sounds like to the poor people next to me! i am looking for cheep solutions for this problem. i know stuff like dynomat is suppost to work but i have never had this problem before. that stuff is expensive but i found cheaper stuff on ebay. Anyway i want to know if this stuff works and how do i apply it. any other suggestions would be great.
let me clarify, i have installed more expensive and powerful systems before, but i have never encontered such a problem. i am begining to thing the car has at one point been wrecked because the noise is so loud. like i said i have never had to think about sound deadener as a means to negate vibration of this magnatude. this is my girlfriends car so this is not a spl machine but i would like to be able to turn the bass up to what this small system can do (being a sq man myself)---- sorry i write so much but i am drunk right now and it is fun to whatch my fingers move at warp speed!!!!!

In all honestly, that's a Honda for you, especially Civics. The metal they use is razor thin, it just doesn't have enough weight to it for it not to rattle. The sound deadening will make a big difference.
