I think we've beat the amp gain issue to death by now on previous posts.

ohm's law deals with current, voltage, resistance, and power.. actually i think you were right :) but that page still has good info. (its too early for me to figure, im on 3 horus of sleep

i think he just made that a imaginary sitatution, seeing as no amp is 100% efficient.

exactly my point. Even if you have a beefed up electronic system and everything else is on point, you're still limited. Of coure an amplifier isn't going to play at constant peak output. So you could take that into consideration, but at the same time, you're headroom will suffer if you're really pushing it. And then you have clipping problems, etc. to consider. lol. Screw it, just stick with factory! lol.

i think it'd be appropriate to pre-emptively mention that capacitors don't help the electrical system.

I know you guys say that a lot on here, but honestly, I have to disagree. In the system in my Jeep right now, I thought my amp was shot because every time I'd crank it up to where they bass was really starting to pound, it went to shit. The whole system started sounding like crap. Then I bought an alumapro 5 farad cap and never had another problem. I could crank the shit out of it without anything nasty happening. Maybe the amp just doesn't have enough capacitance of it's own, I don't know. But I know for a fact, it helped the sytem. I'm planning on rebuilding the entire system when I get home from the desert as many of you already know. And whether it helps or not, I'll probably put the cap back in since I already have it anyway. But I definately don't want to go through what I went through in the past. That sucked. If nothing else, it makes me feel better. lol.

And on that note, my girlfriend, wife to be, is not liking how much I was going to spend on my system, so now I'm in the process of replaning it. :( I'm not very happy about that, but, at least she still supports the rebuild. Just not 3k worth.
