Help with 4 leftover wires!

Post by spittingclam »

I have a new LCD 7" double din to replace my Toyota factory one and I have the Metra wiring harness.
But the new Deck has a Brown amplifier control, Orange antenna control, Blue and Black park control, Blue Back control, and One Green with White stripe I have no clue what it is! Everything else is hooked up! Helllllllp!

It should say right in the manual what they are. Green/White is supposed to be hooked to your parking brake so the screen only works in park. Usually if you just ground this wire anywhere the screen will work all of the time.

you're not actually matching wire colors between the metra harness and the radio harness, are you?

you need to read the manual. it'll tell you exactly where each of the wires from the LCD unit are supposed to be run, and what they are for.

Green with White stripe is not labeled

Park = parking brake ground, as Justin said.
Back Control is used with a rear view camera.
Auto Ant = power antenna trigger for radio, if you have a retracting antenna.
Amp Control = REM. This is what you use to turn amps on and off when using amplifiers, or devices requiring a REM or Remote trigger.

again, RTFM.

OK ...thanks, I think that answers my question, I don't need auto antenna, don't need back control, I will ground Blue with black stripe "Park" wire, and it doesn't look like I need the Amp control, but not completely sure about that one!
As far as the Geen with white stripe, it's the only wire not shown in my manual!
