First off, this is a rather expensive component set valued at about $480-$520 per pair for these 5&1/4" speakers.

Tweeters:
The tweeters are soft dome, 1" and reproduce sound with great accuracy. The clarity and subtleties are brought out like few speakers I've heard. They are simply very stunning and not overly bright. Them seem to handle anything with ease.

Woofers:
The amount of midbass coming from these really makes you say, "dang" for the size of the woofers. The overall accuracy is very very good. Voice and instruments play through with the utmost clarity. I used to have Infinity Kappa 5x7's in place of the component set; The Infinity's woofer was equivilent to a 6" woofer. Comparing the Infinity's to the Rainbow's, the Infinity's seemed to have NO midbass.

Overall:
These are some great speakers. The SPL capabilities aren't lacking either. They are crystal clear even at high volume levels. These are comparable to high end home audio speakers (but not the highest of high end, think more of mid level B&W). I highly recommend these to anybody with a need for musical satisfaction.

The instrument that I noticed that sounded the most realistic was the acoustic guitar. I have had a few comments on the quality of them. "Dude!!, it's like it's right there!"

As a followup to my article, now that I have them in my '06 Corolla:

I've found that the woofer is dependent on its enclosure. It wants an enclosure and not to be free air. With it free air, there is more emphasis on mid frequencies (not mid bass). However, it is not a large amount to mess up your listening experience :)

BTW these retail for $619 a set if they are the same models I have which I assume they are
