any jvc or panasonic will beat any clarion in the same price range in every way.

clarion sucks for eq adjustability and are crappy built. even low end panasoincs ave pretty good EQ features and JVCs at around 150-175 on ebay have decent features.

over on my other caraudio forum there's people selling alpine/pioneer decks for $75+ used/new. found probly 10 deals as long as the ppl still have them. thanks anyways tho. i hope it's just my headunit problem. this'll be the 5th amp i've gone through in like 3 years if it is the amp. thanks tho

Clarion makes good decks, depends on what you get. The DRZ decks are sweet. Panasonic on the other hand aren't the most reliable I've dealt with. JVC is pretty good for the money.

As far as value, I'd personally go with Pioneer. Unless you scour ebay and forums and try to find a used Alpine or Eclipse, or even upper level Pioneer.

my friend had one he bought at a garage sale. worked pretty good. i didn't like it tho cuz it was just all "plasticky". idk how to describe it. it was a decent deck. but i've had:

1 jensen (failed on me right at my 6 months and bb replaced it with a jvc for free)
1 jvc (got stolen out of my truck 2 years ago was a decent deck)
1 kenwood (bought to replace the jvc) and it held up for 3 years now.
1 pioneer p860mp (best damn deck i had. upgraded my kenwood to this). great sq. clean power. sound was amazing.
1 Concept IDM-777 in-dash dvd player w/ 7" monitor. i hate it. so now i wanna replace that. gotta get it fixed first. so i want a pioneer (higher end) or an alpine (mid-high-end).

i have the Pioneer Premier 670, and its pretty rad.. you can get its brother(the 6700) at Wal-Mart and such, its the same, just different voltage rating.. the 670 Premier has 4v and the 6700 has 2.. anyway its a good deck.. nice little screen savers, some nice eq options, and such.. i like it.. but i was lookin to get a 860 Premier but couldnt find it in my range, but its a bad ass deck too, i would get the 860 again.. or you can try to find a Premier 930.. around 4 years old i think.. doesnt do MP3 but still a killer deck.. also my deck does mp3..etc.. so i love that part.. all in all its a pretty killer deck..
