Very much so :)

Positive must be on positive and negative on negative (there is an exception to this: doing the reverse, but that is for an isobaric configuration). And every coil on the sub must be hooked up.

cuz i'm thinking the positive and negative on the internal of the box are swapped at the terminal thing on the side of the box (forget what they're called). so i could possibly have the positive and negative swapped. idk. my main concern was that the power was still on with the keys removed and car off. i haven't checked it yet again. i don't wanna blow anything.

What hu do you have?

You didn't hook the remote wire input to the positive wire did you? (not a bad thing, but won't allow the amp to shut off)

Sounds like the main thing to check is if the polarity of both coils is right. Make sure of that, if they're wired out of phase the inductance of both coils will effectively cancel each other out, resulting in low or no output.

ok well like i said my distro block has an lcd voltage display and i had that hooked the remote termnial on the amp which i assume is why is stayed on. so i flipped the breaker off hoping that wouldn't damage anything. i pulled that wire out. after looking over everything i did have the positive and negative wires mixed up so i switched those and i tried turning it on again and now the amp won't even power on!! i hope to god my amp isn't blown. i didn't see any smoke and i don't smell anything. so what happened? everything is wired correctly and i have it set to low pass and 12 for the setting. everything else is off i.e. intelli q, high pass. all the fuses at the block are still in tact. the breaker was on when i had the car on. idk what's going on. i don't wanna take it to the shop and pay them $30 again to test my amp and say it's blown..

Just go over all of your wiring once again. Make sure the circuit breaker is back on too.

i have both grounds grounded at the same spot, both power wires from the distro block with 2 fuses still intact, and the wire from the battery with a breaker on it. then my rca's running from my headunit with remoter turn-on running from headunit as well (knukoncept rca's w/remote wire attached) and it's all hooked up in the correct spots this time. the only thing i can think of is the remote wire from the headunit, and i tried wiggling it around but nothing happened. i'm so freakin stumped!!

is it possible to fry the amp's remote terminal and not smell anything?

you will usually fry something inside if you hook it up backwards but some time there is a fuse or something inside that needs to be reset.

but i didn't have the rem hooked up backwards. i had the led wire for my distro block's voltage display hooked into the rem terminal as well and i'm wondering if that could mess anything up. i unhooked it cuz it was giving the amp constant power.
