Sat. Radio Antenna install.

Post by SSVegas »

Could someone help me out with this one? I am going to install my Pioneer Head unit, and a Sirius receiver in my 2004 Silverado. I was hoping to install the antenna for the sat. radio by my third brake light. Is there a way to route the wire through there? If so how? How do you suggest running the ant. wire? Where do you suggest placing the actuall reciever box? Please help I could really use some pointers here. Thanks in advance, Matt.

If anyone has step by step instructions for this install on my truck please hook me up.

I dont know how big your reciever is. Anyway in most Suburban, I put the antenna at the front of the truck. These wires are reallt thin and can be carefully tucked under the windshield trim. From there I tuck it under the weather stripping, there is actually a slot where the wire can go through (apply a small amount of sealer to be on the safe side, A SMALL AMOUNT).

The panel under the dash has enough room for most tuners. Two 9/32 inch nuts and some clips hold it in place. To make removal a little easier, snap out the bottom part of the dash.

From there everything should be easy

Thanks for the help, but I would rather go out the third brake light. Looks much cleaner.

Not sure about the antenna routing but I would still put the tuner under that panel. But there still should be no problems running the wire.
