Installing components

Post by Mithrandir »

I called a shop they said it would be like 80 bucks then 20 for the brackets. Is that a decent price? They said they have 4x6 to 6 1/2 adapters, is there any such thing? This is bullshit because on their sign it said component installation 60 bucks. Why the hell do I have to pay 100? I mean hardly anyone who gets components has 6 1/2s in their doors already. Grrr angry, need suggestions :attitude

tell them they have to honor thier advertising, otherwise it is false advertising. Take a picture of the sign so you have something to back up your story. They will do it for 60 bucks..

not all components are 6 1/2 though and a lot of cars have 5 1/4 or 6 1/2 in the doors...all they should charge extra for is the adaptor to fit the 6 1/2 in therre though...

It's not false advertising. Look it up, it' only false advertising if it's on TV or some BS. People are always quick to say false advertising when 95% of the time, it really isn't. Plus, all they would have to say is that the $60 price applies to most cars, but some require an extra charge.

Justin, rules are made to be broken and sued over.

McDonald's can be a good example here. They had a little old lady order coffee, she spills it on her 80yr old fragile skin, she gets 2nd degree (blisters) burns, sues MikkyD's, and get's a butt load of money for it. Then they get sued by some dude who has gotten fat as a cow eating "super sized" meals and he sues cause they didn't warn him that it was fattening. Bastard again wins. Advertisements can be in the form of but not limited to TV, Banners, NP ads, billboards, signs, word of mouth. Any of these, if breached falsely, can be sued for false advertisement. This is the case in Oklahoma. In your neck of the woods, maybe not, but here, they can.

there are a million frivolous lawsuits every year...the ones that win find the loophole.

I am not telling him to sue, I am merely telling him to take a picture of the sign, since it only says "components installed 60 bucks", does not stipulate, just says components...then they should honor that. Other wise take it to the next level.

I had a point here, but forgot it...I think it is because now they advertise "hot" coffee, and on their website they mention that eating excess supersized meals can affect your weight.

something like that. this is the opposite effect...now they have to advertise that coffee is hot and that fast food makes you fat.

Thats when the * next to the price comes in.

Then at the bottom of the pages is a
*This price is for most cars

lol

I believe Michigan has a law stating anything for sale in a store/shop must be clearly priced.

Yeah, but that law is on the way out. Plus, if they have an electronic price checker, then they don't need to have ANYTHING priced.

I think its a good law. I wish they did that in Ohio.

Ive been to the store countless times to buy stuff and wasnt marked. Sometimes I got a good deal IMO, sometimes it was way expensive and I just left. Then sometimes I just dont buy it...

lol

I like that law. Go into a store/shop everything is priced clearly and plainly. There is no questions...
