Some Audio Help

I dont' know if anybody here remembers me but I used to be on a lot on the previous forum. I just got another car and am starting to do the installation on it but I have a couple of questions.

I have a distribution block that goes from a 1/0 guage input to two 4 gauge output. It has compression fittings which I did not realize. I have tried to figure out how to get the wires to stay in there to no avail.

Is there an easy way to crimp 1/0 guage connectors?

And how exactly can I wire a cap into my system? I have a 1.2 farad cap. I have 2 amps, one monoblock for the 2 12" and one 4 channel for my component speakers. The above distribution block is to make the 1/0 from the battery split into 2 4 guage wires. Do I need a different distribution block?

I use a bench vice to crimp anything larger then 8 gauge connectors. A cap can only be ran to one of your amplifiers. Simply interrupt one of the 4 gauge power wires, then ground the negative terminal of the cap. It's basically wired in-line.

As far as the compression fitting goes:

Completely unscrew the insert part. Then skin the wire to correct length. Feather the copper strands over the unthreaded part. Then screw back in until its tight.

Done.

Should be strong enough to swing on...

Thanks for the advice. Me and my friend figured out the thing about compression fittings and the bench vice was a great idea. It worked like a charm. I'll have to post pics when I'm done.
