Single XXX 12 or 15?
Which would be louder. Im thinkin the 15, but I heard 15s arent good for rock and metal bass, the tight shit. Is that true? Or will it still sound decent if I get a single RE XXX 15? Cause im pretty sure a 15 would eliminate my need for 2 XXX 12"s. I know willy on here has a brahma 15 and he says it sounds really good even in a ported box so im think an XXX 15 in a larger sealed box (cause it would only be gettin 1200 watts instead of 1600) would sound quite nice. The only bad thing would be trunk space cause i know i need atleast a 16 inch tall box for a 15 lol.

Sure it does. A 10" can reproduce much quicker, tighter bass then a 15" can becauseit is a smaller size. To the original poster, are comparing a single 12" or a pair of 12"s? A pair of 12"s will be much louder then a single 15"6three6mafia6 wrote:a woofers acuracy or speed has nothing to do with its size

The "tight" response that people often try to describe when refering to their subwoofers is all about your midbass. Install your mid's well on a solid baffle and seal the front wave from the back wave, cross them over as low as you can get them to play cleanly (hopefully between 40 and 60 hz) and then filter your sub below that.
And I definately agree, get a 15" if you have the room.
