O and by the way, thugs are thugs, black or white. Call them thugs.

I spoke with my friend who's mom lived in New ORleans. She heard of the hurricane, but down their this isn't anything abnormal. Just another hurricane. She she her house has been flooded before no big deal. True story, she woke up in her bed and the entire room was filled with water up to her bed. She opens the door to get to higher ground and in flows more water. She gets in the attic and through a hole in the roof she sees a boat zoomin on by. They scream "Are you okay?" And they take her away in the boat. She's fine now.

I for one am glad it happened before and not after the gay pride fest where people run around naked down their.

I saw some aerial shots that were very detailed, but they weren't close enough to my neighborhood to see much. That satellite is juuussstt too blurry to really see my house. But I can pick out most stuff. I can't see most of my family's either.

It's a pain watching the news. They always cut it off before they get to my neighborhood.

Well I am here in Fort Walton Beach Florida. It took me about 15 hours simply because there is no gas from Louisiana to eastern Alabama. I finally found some, but it took me two hours of waiting in lines and crap. I saw the path that the hurricane went through, it was pretty ugly still a few hundred miles north of the coast. I am right here on the beach, my condo/hotel room looks over it...I see Stalian after Blackhawk after Chinook fly by every few minutes. Ridiculous.

I know your pain. I am in Mobile, AL now. I had to drive from Atlanta, Tx to here. At least now I have a house to stay in and all for the time being. My dad is going to my house tomorrow to pick up some important stuff (pet lizard, gun, etc). He works at MSY (airport fireman) where they are having a huge triage there. A local deputy asked him if he was going to the city and gave him a spare gun. Kinda makes you a little nervous. This morning he flew over in a helicopter and tried to see how the water level was, but he didn't get a good look.

Yeah I didn't see anything outragous. Nothing worth taking a picture of...just a lot of debris and such. I was pretty close to Mobile on my way back last night, but decided to steer clear. I almost made a cross country flight to MSY this summer. I might do one this year if it opens back up anytime soon...thats not looking promising though. On the beach there in Fort Walton there was a crap load of debris that washed up. Some very random things I saw....

Well, my dad went to see our house. It's not good at all. We still have about 5 feet of water in the house. The water was up to 6-7 feet which was above the lizards cage. He had no chance. I feel so bad.

Everything on the first floor is ruined. We will be very lucky if our house isn't condemned. There has been 5 feet of water in it since last tuesday. Now that they have 2 pumps working in the city, 60% of the city is underwater instead of 80%.

In a nutshell, we lost everything. The guy my dad went out to see the house with, he had a canoe and had to break a window in the house to get in. The front door is swollen shut. He couldn't even get into the house, so he only saw from the side. The best news is that everything on our second story is there. However, there are only two rooms upstairs in the back, it's not a full second story.

I think we are going to be living in Mobile here for at least a month. Right now I don't have internet where I'm staying, but all is well here.
