in-dash LCD DVD units

Post by MrSo0h0o »

hey guys, i was wondering if you could give me some pointers as in how to shop for an in-dash dvd unit with an LCD.

what would i need to purchase? do most units come with everything needed to play? does the brain come separately?

questions like that..

if anyone can help out, that would be great.. i would like to shop around for one soon :)

well basicall you need to figure out if where you want to mount the monitor or if you want an all in one in dash unit....if you want seperate pieces you need to figure out where you are going to mount all of it and then get the best you can in your price range. i know that sounds generic but as far as all in one units go you cant go wrong with clarion or pioneer. as far as screens go there are a lot of them out there now that have good resolution and are reasonably priced. we recently put two monitors and a dvd player in a trailblazer using pac's aux box and it cost the guy about a grand installed.granted he got a deal. we used a brand called absolute and it seems to be good stuff and you can get 7" monitors for about 200. 1/2 din dvd players can be had for about the same...

The only bad thing about the AVIC's, is that they have 2v and 1v preouts.
