Im thinking the same thing because like I said these speakers where in my Explorer using a line converter spliced into the rear speakers (not the right way) but it worked fine.

Yes you what? I asked two questions.

Can you draw out the way it is wired and upload the picture to the forum. I think their is some confusion on how you have it set up.

Do you have acess to a cd burner, and a digital multi meter?

It will take some work to test, but there is a way to see if the factory amp is filtering lows.

Burn a CD with a 40hz 0 db test tone, and a 100 hz 0db test tone. Disconect all your speakers, and keep the amp connected as you have it. Play the

100hz tone and measure the amps output.

Now Play the 40HZ tone and measure the amps output.

The readings should be close to the same. If the 40hz drops by a lot, then the factory amp has a built in HPF.

It might work, but I would do some more reaserch about the preamp signal before you rewire the whole thing.

What are your settings on the amp? Gain, X-over, Subsonic Filter?

Are you sure you have it wired like the picture? have you checked to make sure all wires are still connected? Even the ones inside of the box?
