The last car audio related product I bought from ebay was a jbl bp600.1. good amp. the last thing i bought was from justin, but havent installed it yet. no money for speakers and other things. i depleted my car audio fund to take care of a car problem! i should see the money back from the insurance company sometime soon though, and then of course i'll support little shops like detroit bass. i've had a few iffy experiences with ebay, cant say its as safe as it was even 6 months ago. justin does a good job and has a respectable rep...a few extra dollars is worth the security now days, and you know the money you spend stays in the hobby...as justin keeps his business running. anyway, if you think about it and do the math its all around better for everyone if you just buy from justin.
lol, i better get 'discount' points wheni come to buy that next xxk amp justin. jk

That's exactly right. You buy from a retailer and you know you are getting a brand new product and a full warranty, and the person will always be there if you have questions. Whereas if you buy it fro an Ebayer, well, how mnay times have you tried emailing them but never received an answer?Jszar wrote:The last car audio related product I bought from ebay was a jbl bp600.1. good amp. the last thing i bought was from justin, but havent installed it yet. no money for speakers and other things. i depleted my car audio fund to take care of a car problem! i should see the money back from the insurance company sometime soon though, and then of course i'll support little shops like detroit bass. i've had a few iffy experiences with ebay, cant say its as safe as it was even 6 months ago. justin does a good job and has a respectable rep...a few extra dollars is worth the security now days, and you know the money you spend stays in the hobby...as justin keeps his business running. anyway, if you think about it and do the math its all around better for everyone if you just buy from justin.

i was watching that amp too and i knew it was something fishing like an insurance sale too but i was thinking about buying to have on display to show the insides at my store since im also a dealer for elevation audio. im sure anyone who has a store thats a memeber here would give other members discounts on thier products or atleast i would or try to give a little off. some of the products we cant discount like on ebay but we can take some off atleast.

Yea so fVck all the other shops that Justin doesnt own that try to make a few dollars to keep alfloat, or to make buy ins to keep their business alive. You must support your local economy since noone ever buys anything from anyone in your area (thus adding funds to your area) so you MUST do this. Ok w/e.
I see how it is.
BTW, from whom ive bought from? Questions are always answered.
Warranty? I only bought US Amps, never needed one.
With the savings over local MSRP i could still buy another WHATEVER and be UNDER msrp, IF i didnt have "ins" damn near everywhere. BTW, while i was waiting for the theoretical item to be fixed i could have the rplacement on my doorstep in 2-3 days. Been at this for 16 years.
Greed is what screws most bricks and mortar. The refusal to accept that more money can be made in quanitity of sales at super low prices VS msrp is what turns ppl to the bay,l and store owner out on their ass.
Just an example. The Treo. MSRP in the neighborhood 1400, dealer cost (my guess) is 700 + ship. Noones buying. Same amp on the shelf since it was first purchased. Had the price been knocked to around 8-900 a bill would have been made a week on an amp that never moved. Before anyone says the anything about the dealer controling prices, well, there is a way around anything, and if they catch you selling below locally piss on em, they can sell they crap their own selves. That brand could be replaced by a similar one the very next day..........period.

While its good to support your local B&M for warranty and service purposes theres plenty of people that just cant.
Like me... Im not rich and this hobby isnt cheap. By all rights the only reason I got the system I had was through proper connections and careful E Baying.
As far as dealers selling product at a certain price only as told by the manufacturer- screw them!
Why should they care WHAT you sell it for? Afterall your paying them a certain amount for that product regardless to what you sell it for :)
We can sit and argue back and forth on this topic untill everyone wants to kill everyone. Simple fact is there will ALWAYS be a BALANCE. Most of us who buy off the net are knowledgeable and know what were doing, so we dont require the expertise of a B&M. We know how to setup our equipment properly and we know its limits. With todays Electronics if its a manufactuers defect you will know right away...
Now the people that buy retail are usually the people that dont know squat. There are some of us who buy retail as we can afford it and want the insurance and ease of returns if need be.
Lastly you have the poor people. These people are usually young, dont know much about the hobby and usually have less than $500 and want ULTIMATE BOOM :) ) Draw your own conclusion from here on out

Im middle of the fence. Im "sponsored" by more than one local establishment. The use of their product in my vehicle is beneficial to their sales directly. Im well known, and everyone knows i run the best or near enough settling for nothing less. Both companies knows that i will do my best to make product sound as best as possible.
Its a round robin.
Hitherto, ALL my purchases sans 2 were from the net. Time to give back a lil, and PYA at the same time.
Peace.

That's not what anyone was saying. They were saying it's better to support shops IN GENERAL, not my shop only. It's always best to support the little guys in town then to buy from a pwoer seller on ebay.Renegadesrun wrote:Yea so fVck all the other shops that Justin doesnt own that try to make a few dollars to keep alfloat, or to make buy ins to keep their business alive. ebay really makes it hard for a small business owner like when you get a kid coming in to your store and says he can get the same deck for 100 bucks less than your selling it for and its only a 300 dollar deck. thats why i try to stay away from mainstream stuff because you cant buy alot of the stuff off ebay that i sell so the kids cant do that. i think people should support local shops only if they are good shops but not the ones that dont know shit and sell a couple bottom line 12"s to a kid for 600 bucks and an amp for 3 bucks a watt or something.
i had a bad experience with my local shop. i went in with my friend one day and asked if they sold any universal speaker adapters.(mind you, this guy was vacuuming for a good 2 mins before he acknowledges us) he asked what car it was for and i told him a 93 camry(yea i know not the greatest car). he gave me such a stuck up look and replied, "oh no, we dont sell those here" and proceeded to go back to vacuuming. my friend and i couldnt believe what an asshole he was! im never stepping foot in there again after that kind of treatment.
yeah man, you gotta be careful even with some shops nowdays. there are some real idiots that run their own store some how, and i now of several people that have been screwed over. it doesnt just happen on ebay. some 'small' shops around here are very iffy and ghetto like the whole town. one has this v6 mustang 2000 all pimped out on their lot with 'who's your daddy' written all over it, i still cant figure out why. i met the guy that runs the place, what a moron. he thinks he's gods gift to this hobby and car performance. i wouldnt let that guy change a light bulb in my car, and i'd die before he touched a fuse or my battery.
