Hey yall,
It's been awhile since I've been to this forum. Just got all of my stuff stolen and in the process of rebuilding my system. I'm interested in powering a 10" 700w rms sub and in need of an amp that can deliver ~700w rms at 2 ohm. I've narrowed down to the two models in the title, the J2 1000.1 and the G1700, both made by JL Audio. I can get either one for the same price. Can anybody tell me the differences between the two? They seem very similar. Any help would be appreciated.

JL Audio amps for sub: J2 1000.1 vs G1700
Main thing I noticed is the J2 is one ohm stable and will put out around 1000 volts. The G is only 2 ohm stable, and its max rms is 700.
If it was me, and I wasn't trying to match another amp, I would go with the J2. The power supply would be a little beefier since its one ohm stable, and if you ever swap out your subs it will give you a little more power.

Do any of you guys live within an hour or two from Nashville?
Thanks for input. I'll probably get the 1000.1 because it matches the J2 360.2 I'm planning to get.
Any of you guys live within reasonable distance from Nashville by any chance?
