Help best subs for Lanzar 50c opti drive?

Post by pluff30 »

I was just wondering if anyone had an idea of what kind of subs to have this amp push. I know that it is capibale of pushing 800x1@ .25ohm. I just am not sure what the best kind of subs to use and which ones I can get to go down to that low of an ohm. If you could help thanks.

How long have you had this amp? I had trouble finding any information about it on the internet. To my knowledge most of the amps capable of running at 1/4 ohm were made as 'cheater amps' for competitions.
To answer your question (kind of) to be able to get it to work at 1/4 ohm you will have to run 4 single voice coil (SVC) 1 ohm speakers in parallel or 2 dual 1 ohm voice coil (DVC) speakers. Also, you could run 4 dual 2 ohm voice coil speakers. I'm not sure on what brand you might be interested, but these specs will help you locate the appropriate type and number of speakers given your amplifier. You may be better off running the amp at 1/2 or 1ohm to save space and $.

If this is the amp I remember its about 24" long, 6-8" wide and 2" Deep.

Its old school also, 1993-96 era... The wires come through the end of it...

Im about positive this is the amp.

Nothing different than any other amp except its stable to a lower impedance. They did that so the rating at 4 Ohm load is rather small.

Anyhow 4 Resonant Engineering RE series subs would work perfect I think...

Hey, Thanks and it is the old school amp. I haven't had the $ to get the stuff to put everything to geather yet. I bought the amp on ebay about 3months ago and stil haven't seen if it even works. I'm sure it does though. The guy I bought it from said that he got the amp to do 150db in a comp. I don't want that much power, but I do want some power. I have never heard of RE subs are they good. I was thinking maybe Power Ackostic or Solo Barics at 2 ohm (DVC), but your info helps to let me have an idea of what to get thank.

Sure if you want to be like every other kid with junk speakers that get loud and sound like someone farting in a bucket ;)

You wont find much love for Audiobahn by almost anyone serious into Car Audio. There is a reason for it...

All right. I was wondering you said that the Resonant Engineering RE series subs would be kool. I just wasn't sure if you was talking about the RE, SE, SX, XXX, MT. I found a few on ebay and 300 for a 15" didn't sound to bad, due to the fact that I want 15 with 10"'s ideal. If you could recomend a better setup for this amp that wuold be awsome.
